The strongest reason to take Amy Eskridge’s pre-death warnings seriously is also the reason not to overstate them: they appear to have been made before her death, to more than one associate, and included an unusually specific instruction that a future report of suicide should be treated as false or suspicious. That makes the warnings relevant evidence, but not proof of homicide. Their evidential value is constrained by a fragmented chain of custody: much of what the public can inspect consists of screenshots and material released years later by associates, rather than complete device extractions or contemporaneously authenticated records. That statement is significant because it was not simply a general comment about danger. On its face, it anticipated a particular future explanation for her death. His account is identifiable and he has repeated it publicly, including in a NewsNation interview, which is considerably stronger than an anonymous internet allegation. But the accessible evidence remains largely what Milburn says Eskridge sent or told him, supplemented by screenshots he released. This means the warning dataset has an unusual evidential profile. Its provenance is plausible but incompletely independently authenticated. There are named recipients, apparent dates and contextual consistency, yet outsiders do not have the complete underlying accounts, original devices, forensic images or full message histories needed to rule out omissions, altered timestamps or selective publication.
The distinction matters because screenshots can accurately preserve genuine conversations while still giving an incomplete picture. A complete extraction could show earlier or later messages that substantially strengthen the warnings, weaken them, or change their meaning. Without that material, it is reasonable to describe the communications as attributed to Eskridge and potentially significant, but stronger formulations such as “verified final messages” go beyond what the public record currently demonstrates.
Her extraordinary claims do not authenticate themselves
Eskridge’s communications contain allegations considerably more specific than “someone is threatening me”. She reportedly believed that she was being surveilled, that her telephone had been hacked and that she had been physically attacked with a directed-energy or radio-frequency device. Those allegations cannot simply be treated as corroboration for the death warnings. Photographs may demonstrate an injury or skin condition, for example, without establishing its cause. Likewise, the fact that directed-energy technology exists does not establish that such a device was used against Eskridge. No publicly available technical examination cited in the current reporting connects her reported injuries to a particular weapon, operator or aerospace organisation. The same rule applies to the claimed death threats. Eskridge’s messages are evidence that she said she was receiving threats. To establish the threats independently, investigators would ideally need the original threatening communications, telephone or account records, sender information, preserved voicemail or audio, witness corroboration and any reports she made at the time. Why the warnings deserve scrutiny without proving homicide
A prospective statement denying suicidal intent can carry genuine investigative weight. But the logical leap from “she said she would not kill herself” to “therefore somebody killed her” is not justified. A person’s intentions and mental state can change. A statement can also reflect fear, misinterpretation or a sincere belief that is nevertheless factually mistaken. Even an authenticated declaration of non-suicidal intent shortly before death cannot by itself determine the physical circumstances of a later shooting.

What would materially change the assessment?
The Eskridge warnings become most useful when treated as leads that can, in principle, be tested rather than as a verdict. Several categories of evidence would substantially alter their weight.
Original communications would come first. Forensic copies of Eskridge’s devices, complete Signal or other message histories, email headers, LinkedIn records and metadata could establish whether the publicly circulated screenshots faithfully reproduce contemporaneous communications. They could also reveal whether the surviving selections omit important surrounding discussion.
The alleged threats could be tested separately. Original threatening messages, telephone records, voicemail, preserved account information or contemporaneous reports to friends, companies or authorities could move the allegation from Eskridge’s description of events towards independently verifiable harassment.
The final hours require their own evidence. Milburn’s recollection of a normal conversation hours before the death is relevant but inherently limited. Call records could establish timing; recordings, if any existed, could establish what was actually said. Neither would independently determine suicidal intent, but they could test the chronology.
Above all, the physical evidence from the death scene would outweigh retrospective interpretation. A complete investigative file could potentially address weapon ownership and handling, wound characteristics, fingerprints or DNA where relevant, gunshot residue, scene reconstruction, toxicology, communications immediately preceding death and whether investigators found evidence of another person’s presence. Without access to such records, public discussion remains disproportionately dependent on screenshots and competing recollections.
That is why Eskridge’s warning should neither be dismissed nor promoted as proof of assassination. Its proper evidential status lies between those extremes.
